The twentieth season of the ADAC MX Masters started in Fürstlich Drehna in predominantly sunny weather and the best, but demanding, racing conditions. In front of 10,200 enthusiastic spectators at the weekend, the reigning champion Max Nagl (D/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) prevailed in the top class with two race victories in the three races against the strong national and international competition. Adam Sterry (GB/Schmicker Racing) won the second race on Sunday afternoon and took second place in the overall standings. Local hero Maximilian Spies (D/Kosak Racing Team) rounded off the event podium to the delight of the loud fans.
Jere Haavisto and Tom Koch rounded out the top five overall. Henry Jacobi went down in the second run and was eliminated. In the third run he achieved tenth place despite some injuries, which brought him ninth place overall. Jordi Tixier (F/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) was also badly injured after a heavy fall in qualifying, after he was taken to the hospital for a check-up during the first race and did not compete at all. After the doctors cleared him, the Frenchman showed fighting spirit, started on Sunday and finished the weekend in eleventh place.
Meanwhile, in the Youngster Cup class, Edvans Bidzans made a double victory for KMP Honda powered by Krettek as the Latvian emerged with the overall win via 2-1-3 over Bradley Mesters (3-3-2) and Rasmus Pedersen (5-6-1).
