ADAC MX Masters: Max Nagl and Oriol Oliver ruled the first day at Drehna

MXPG Serdegna 2023, Riola Sardo Rider: Oliver

Max Nagl and Oriol Oliver start the ADAC MX Masters season on top after both ruled the first races of their respective classes. Tomorrow will take the second and third races to determine the overall winners.

Reigning champion Max Nagl took the holeshot over Henry Jacobi. The fresh KMP Honda member checked out from the beginning easily, winning with a good margin of ten seconds over the KTM Sarholz rider who rode in a steady second place the entire race. Same for Tom Koch who earned the third spot. Rounded the top five were Michael Sander and Maximilian Spies, while Adam Sterry climbed to sixth.

On the other hand, Jordi Tixier suffered a crash that ended in a DNF when he was in running ninth after a bad start. Tomorrow will be two crucial races for the Frenchman who will be trying to minimize the damage.

It was a similar story in the Youngster Cup class. Spaniard Oriol Oliver put himself into the lead before lap 1 ended. From there, the WZ KTM rider starts to push hard lap by lap, and in the end, he won by a considerable margin of 15 seconds. Behind him, Cato Nickel caught Manrique Appelt for second in the final lap. Oriol´s teammate Mike Gwerder showed great speed in the first stages of the race while he was battling for the top three, but a crash put him back in ninth place.

Live stream of tomorrow’s races will start at 10:10 AM (local time).
