2025 MXoN Ballot Gate Pick Results: Bad luck for Team USA

mxon ballot 25

This afternoon, the gate pick ballot took place for the 2025 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations at Ironman, Indiana. This ballot will determine the order for the 37 countries to pick their respective gates for Saturday’s qualifying races.

The first country drawn was Morocco, and their luck doubled when the number pulled for them was #1, giving Team Morocco the very first gate pick in all three qualifying races. Fun fact: this marks the third time in the last four MXoN editions that Morocco has won the ballot.

The biggest storyline, however, was the misfortune of Team USA. The home heroes ended up with the 35th gate pick, while Team Spain fared no better with 36th. That means Tomac, Cooper, and Hampshire—as well as Fernández, Farrés, and García—will face a serious challenge off the line tomorrow.

On Saturday, the countries will use this order for the three qualifying races: MXGP first, MX2 second, and Open third. Each team will drop its worst score, and the best combined results will determine the gate picks for Sunday’s all-important moto
