Maxime Desprey delivered a standout performance in Castelnau-de-Lévis, overcoming MXGP regulars Tom Vialle and Thibault Benistant to secure an impressive overall victory at the opening round of the French Elite Motocros Championship.
In Race 1, the GSM Yamaha rider moved into contention early after Benistant suffered a crash. Desprey initially battled with Vialle, who managed to take control toward the latter stages and cross the line first. Benistant recovered well to finish third.
Race 2 saw Desprey seize the holeshot and immediately establish a strong rhythm at the front. Behind him, Brice Maylin ran second for much of the moto before coming under pressure from Benistant. As the positions reshuffled, Desprey capitalized by extending his advantage and cruising to a decisive win that secured him the overall.
Despite starting outside the top ten in the second moto, Vialle mounted a determined charge through the field to finish third, just behind Benistant.
MX2: Garcia lead 1-2 for BUD Racing Kawasaki
Francisco García dominated the MX2 opener in Castelnau-de-Lévis, setting the fastest time in qualifying before sweeping both motos.

In Race 1, the Bud Racing Kawasaki rider took control early and never looked back. His teammate, Australian rider Jake Cannon, had to fight through the pack after a difficult start, eventually climbing to second but finishing more than ten seconds behind García.
Race 2 proved slightly more demanding for García after a less-than-ideal start. However, by mid-race he had closed in on Cannon and executed the decisive pass for the lead. Once in front, he once again dictated the pace to complete a perfect 1-1 scorecard and secure a Bud Racing Kawasaki 1-2 overall, with Cannon finishing second overall via 2-2 results.
Alexis Fueri (Beta) rounded out the podium thanks to consistent 4-3 finishes across the two motos.
