Kiara Fontanesi leads the WMX Women Moocross Standings

The 2026 FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship season will be remembered for Daniela Guillén’s maiden world title, but it also marked another historic milestone: Kiara Fontanesi reclaimed sole possession of the all-time WMX Grand Prix wins record.

While the Women’s Motocross World Championship officially received world championship status in 2008, this historical overview includes every season since the series began in 2005. Across those two decades, few riders have shaped the category as profoundly as Fontanesi.

With her victories during the 2026 campaign, the Italian moved to 25 career Grand Prix wins, surpassing Courtney Duncan’s 23 and strengthening her position as one of the defining figures in women’s motocross history.

Fontanesi remains the most successful rider in WMX history with six world titles, ahead of Duncan and Stephanie Laier, who each claimed four championships. Her longevity at the top level has allowed her to remain competitive across multiple generations of riders, from the early years of the championship to the current era led by Guillén and Lotte van Drunen.

Fontanesi’s dominance is also reflected in moto victories. She sits comfortably at the top of the all-time rankings with 62 race wins, well ahead of Duncan’s 44 and Laier’s 37. No other rider has matched her combination of consistency, speed and championship success.
