Wildcat Race Team faced a challenging debut in Detroit

Unfortunately, things didn´t go as planned for the Wildcat Race Team in the first 250SX East Coast round in Detroit. On its first supercross race, the team challenged some issues during the day that spoiled both Lorenzo Locurcio and Nick Laurie’s night.

  • Locurcio suffers from a virus
  • Nick Laurie learning step
  • Team structure and bikes performed well

Lorenzo got sick the week before Detroit, and things got worse for him during race day. However, the Venezuelan rider put in his best efforts as he qualified for the Night Show, but hours later he and the crew decided to sit out. The doctors will check on Lorenzo in the next few days.

As for Laurie, the rookie showed some raw speed during the Time practices but mistakes put him out of the Nigh Show.

Despite not getting the best results, the Wildcat Race Team is happy with the things learned on its first supercross race, especially on how the bikes work. We are more motivated to race withing two weeks in Arlington, for Round 2 of the 250SX East Coast series.

Lorenzo Locurcio #60: “The weekend did not start off well. I had a cold during the week that got worse when I arrived in Detroit. I had a very bad time, my bones ached and I had a fever. Then I had a big relapse and decided not to compete.”

Nick Laurie #526: “Hey guys! First off this is was my first race with Wildcat and it was totally amazing how the team work. On my side, I came in a little behind the ball but ready to work towards where I know I should be at next race”
