The FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) can confirm that a total of seven teams will compete in the series’ upcoming 2024 season, fielding competitive lineups across the category’s premier WSX 450cc and SX2 250cc classes. With four riders per team – two riders per class – a total of 28 full-time riders, plus four wildcard entries per event, will contest the campaign which will commence on 26 October 2024 with the inaugural WSX Canadian Grand Prix, held at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.

In the first two seasons, we saw a total of ten teams. Now that number has been reduced to seven with the departure of Honda NILS, ClubMX Yamaha and MDK Motorsport. Instead, the remaining teams will be: HEP Suzuki, FirePower Honda, CDR Yamaha, Bud Racing Kawasaki, MCR Honda, GSM Yamaha & Rick Ware Racing.

PROVISIONAL TEAM ENTRIES:

While the lineups have not yet been officially unveiled, we can already get an idea of some of the names that will be competing. Ken Roczen will lead the HEP Suzuki as reigning class champion; his teammate is likely to be newcomer Colt Nichols. There is no news about the riders chosen for the 250 class.

Vince Friese have already secured spots on the MCR Honda team for the SX1 class. CDR Yamaha has signed Matt Moss for the Australian Supercross Championship, and we may also see him competing in the premier WSX class. French teams Bud Racing Kawasaki and GSM Yamaha confirmed Anthony Bourdon and Maxime Desprey, respectively.

FirePower Honda lost its reigning SX2 champion, Max Anstie, after he signed with Star Racing Yamaha. Instead, Carson Mumford signs with the team. And Dean Wilson is expected to be one of the top guns in SX1.
