SMX Next Motocross Set to Get Underway at Hangtown

After a thrilling SMX Next – Supercross campaign that saw Alexander Fedortsov prevail with an AMA National Championship, the baton has been passed for the next phase of the amateur development program as SMX Next – Motocross is set to commence this Friday, May 30, from the Hangtown Motocross Classic. A total of 20 prospects have been invited for the first of three Scouting Moto Combine Presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare gatherings this summer and will run as part of the weekend festivities for the Michael’s Reno Powersports Hangtown Motocross Classic, the second race of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing.

In cooperation with GASGAS, Honda, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki, Triumph, and Yamaha, a hand-selected group of prospects have been invited to participate in the season’s first gathering, which will consist of 20 top A & B class riders. This group features a mix of racers with prior SMX Next experience in addition to a new wave of talent that will participate in the program for the first time. A pair of 25-minute, plus two-lap motos await the field on Friday afternoon.
