There is a small chance that Argentina will return to the MXGP calendar next year.

The beautiful track of Villa La Angostura in Argentina held the 2024 opening round of the MXGP World Championship. Unfortunately after eight editions this year was the last visit, as the lands were sold and the new owner has other plans which don´t involve the word motocross. Even the track has already been dismantled…
This does not mean the end of Grand Prix racing in Argentina. In the last weeks, there was a rumor (I repeat, rumor) that Argentina will continue to be part of the calendar in 2025, although no longer in Villa La Angostura. It seems that the new track “Otto Race Park”, located in the city of Cipolletti, Rio Negro province, will possibly host one of the rounds of the MXGP World Championship in 2025.
The track was designed by Lucas De la Fuente, the same who designed the Villa La Angostura circuit.
