The new MX2 Championship leader seems to sustain an injury just days before round nine.
According to some rumors, The Dutchman suffered a tweaked ankle after a training crash on Tuesday. So far there is no team press release, but he rode 31st in the Free Practice, which is not a common thing on him, even as a fresh Red Plate Holder. This result doesn´t seem good and his situation seems questionable for the rest of the weekend.
The Neestan Husqvarna rider leads the Championship by 12 points over Andrea Adamo and 19 over Thibault Benistant. Although, Jago Geerts announced his early return. The Belgian sits 4th in the standings within 48 points behind Kay de Wolf. In a nutshell, this injury by Kay de Wolf could put the title contention on tight.
