We have four rounds to go in the MXGP World Championship and the silly season increases week by week. Some poorly held secrets are now out, as next year you’re going to see Jeremy Seewer and Mattia Guadagnini on Ducati, but don´t expect official press releases about it, because they’re still under contract from their existing teams. Now, the new rumor in the paddock inks Guillem Farres and Triumph.
In 2022, Farres was contesting the EMX250 Championship and the ADAC MX Masters, but surprisingly he received a call from Star Racing Yamaha to contest two rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross. He did so well that he finished 6th on his first-ever moto at Budds Creek, finishing in front of all his teammates. The Spaniard secured a contract to full Pro Motocross season the very next year, but unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned due to a shoulder injury suffered at Round 3 in Thunder Valley.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna gave another chance to continue in the USA, making a great Supercross debut finishing 8th at the 250SX East Coast season opener in Houston, his first-ever Main Event. But unfortunately, bad luck hit again, this time in the form of a broken femur training in Florida.
Now rumors suggest that Farres will return to racing in Europe as a Triumph Factory rider in the MX2 World Championship. The British brand is looking for a new rider as Mikkel Haarup will move to MXGP next year due age limit.
