The entry list for the MXGP of Riola Sardo, round 3 of the MXGP World Championship, has somewhat confirmed the arrival of Roan Van de Moosdijk at Honda HRC as a fill-in rider for Ruben Fernandez.
Van De Moosdijk had signed a contract with Fantic Factory Team for what would be his debut in the MXGP class of the Motocross World Championship, but eventually left the team without even racing a single Grand Prix. The only race with Fantic was the Hawkstone Park International in mid-February, where he suffered a knee injury in the first moto, that forced him to return to Netherlands for further evaluation. Shortly afterwards he announced his departure from Fantic.
“After careful negotiation and consideration, Fantic Racing Team and Van de Moosdijk’s management, mr. Ebert Dollevoet, have reached an agreement that is satisfactory to both parties. As part of this agreement, the parties have decided to end their partnership and Van de Moosdijk will have the freedom to join another team within the MXGP. Van de Moosdijk will continue his professional MXGP career at another team and anticipates announcing his new team affiliation shortly”. Worte the team.
Van de Moosdijk was later spotted training with Honda in recent weeks, which raised the rumor that he could possibly take Ruben Fernandez’s place in Honda HRC. Now the entry list for Riola Sardo this weekend confirms ( in the absence of a press release) the arrival of the Dutchman to the team.
Meanwhile, Fernandez will continue to work on his recovery process after hetored his ACL in the Qualifying Race of the Grand Prix of Argentina.
