Rick Elzinga went on successfully surgery

MXPG Switzerland 2023, Frauenfeld Rider: Elzinga

The Monster Energy Yamaha rider has finally undergone surgery after dealing with a shoulder injury in the final rounds of the MX2 World Championship.

Since the Grand Prix of Arnhem, Netherlands, Rick Elzinga had been struggling with a shoulder injury that caused him to dislocate his shoulder on a regular basis, which led him to limit his riding during the final rounds. Despite this Elzinga managed to finish tenth in his first full season in MX2, which has secured him a place within the new Yamaha structure for 2024.

Now successfully operated on and with a one-year contract secured, Elzinga will wait patiently until the doctors give the green light for routine training for the 2024 season, which according to the provisional MXGP calendar, will start on March 9 & 10 in Villa La Angostura, Argentina.
