Garcia dominates EMX250 opener in Almonte, BUD Racing locks 1-2
Francisco Garcia left no room for rivals at the opening round of the EMX250 Championship in Almonte. The BUD Racing VENUM Kawasaki rider stood out for his aggression early in both motos, making decisive passes to take control of the races.
In the first moto, Garcia needed no more than two laps to move into the lead. The second race, however, proved more demanding after a poor start left him outside the top ten. He quickly charged up to sixth before continuing his push, backed by strong support from the crowd. Lap by lap, he closed in on Mano Faure (VRT VHR Yamaha), who had led most of the race, before making the decisive pass in the closing stages.

Australian rider Jake Cannon, Carbonero’s teammate, also fought back from a difficult start to secure sixth in the race, which proved enough to clinch second overall and complete a 1-2 for BUD Racing at the season opener. Faure, who had also led laps in Saturday’s first moto before a crash dropped him to ninth, rebounded to secure third overall.
A special mention goes to Brazil’s Be Tiburcio (Yamaha 115M78), who ran as high as fifth in the opening moto before a crash relegated him to the back. He bounced back strongly in race two with an impressive third place on debut, moving him up to eighth overall.
EMX125: Ernecker takes maiden overall victory
Austria’s Moritz Ernecker claimed his first overall win in EMX125 with a dominant 1-3 scorecard across the weekend. France’s Sleny Goyer also celebrated a first career podium, finishing second overall with consistent 2-2 results.

The podium was completed by Denmark’s Betram Thorius (Fantic), who won the second moto on Sunday. That result vaulted him to third overall after finishing eighth in the opening race.
