Race Results: 2024 Round 6 Spanish Motocross – Bellpuig

The penultimate round of the 2024 Spanish Motocross series saw Jose Antonio Butron and Samuel Nilsson taking the honors in their respective classes at the former MXGP track of Bellpuig. It was the fourth win in a row for Butron as he extends the points lead, and the second of the season for Nilsson.

Last round will be in one week time at Calatayud.

MX1: BUTRON EXTENDS THE POINTS LEAD

In Race 1, Brazilian Fabio Dos Santos took the holeshot and lead for two laps before being passed by Ander Valentin who pulled off at the front of the pack en route to his first race win of the season. Meanwhile, Butron and Carlos Campano charged from behind to sit 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Race 2 had a similar start with Dos Santos taking the holeshot once again, but this time followed by his teammate Campano and Butron behind them. It didn´t take so long to Butron to take the lead and the control of the race as well. Then, in the last stages of the race, Valentin made the mover over Dos Santos for third.

At the end of the day, Butron clinched his fourth win of the season via 2-1. The podium were filled by Carlos Campano (3-2) and Ander Valentin (1-3). In terms of championship, Butron now leads the standings by 29 points over Valentin.

MX2: NILSSON WINS, BUT CONGOST LEAD

Samuel Nilsson has enjoyed a perfect day as he went 1-1. Both motos were similar in terms of narrative and results. Nilsson took both holeshot and pulled away, followed by Adria Monne (2-2) and Gerard Congost (3-3) who leads the standings by 29 points over Monne.
