Preston Kilroy Canada 25

Preston Kilroy has officially secured the 2025 250 Pro Canadian Triple Crown Championship—doing so with one round to spare after a consistent and impressive campaign. The American rider sealed the deal at round seven in Deschambault, marking a significant milestone in his career revival north of the border.

Kilroy turned professional in late 2021 following standout performances at the prestigious Loretta Lynn’s AMA Amateur National, where he finished third overall in both 250 Pro Sport and Open Pro Sport. Despite his promising start, injuries soon derailed his momentum.

In search of a fresh start, Kilroy moved to Canada in 2024. Competing in the 450 Pro class with MX101 Yamaha, he wrapped up the season third overall, collecting three podium finishes. For 2025, the team made the strategic decision to switch him to the 250 Pro class—and it paid off.

Kilroy started strong with a flawless 1-1 performance at the Wild Rose opener and never let go of the red plate. With five podiums and three overall wins across seven rounds, his consistency proved unbeatable, allowing him to clinch the crown ahead of schedule.

Nicoletti vs Ward for the 450 title:

Meanwhile, the 450 Pro title fight is shaping up for a dramatic finale. Just 10 points separate Phil Nicoletti (WLT Kawasaki) and Tanner Ward (GasGas) heading into the final round. Title favorites Jess Pettis (MX101 Yamaha) and Dylan Wright (Honda GDR) have both suffered multiple setbacks, including crashes and mechanical DNFs, leaving Nicoletti and Ward in prime position to fight for their first-ever Canadian motocross title.

The season wraps up at Walton Raceway on August 10.
