Pauls Jonass and Henry Jacobi – Injury updates from the MXGP of Germany

MXPG Germany 2024, Teutschenthal Rider:

Two of the best privateers riders of the weekend at the eighth round of the MXGP World Championship were injured during the second moto.

After a hard-fought, Jonass finished fifth in the opening moto. Unfortunately, the Standing Construct Honda rider suffered a dislocated shoulder and fracture of the upper arm due to a crash in the second race. Jonass will be under surgery to avoid further issues.

This is such a big blow-up for the Latvian as he was having one of the great seasons so far in the MXGP class. Jonass still sits 5th in the standings with an overall win in Agueda, Portugal. Also, he will miss his home GP in one week’s time in Kegums, Latvia.

KTM Sahrolz´s Henry Jacobi weekend was a rollcoaster. The local hero put all his effort into an impressive first moto on his first GP appearance this season, finishing 10th after a big battle against the factory riders. But his dream day ended drastically in the second moto as he broke his jaw.

Jacobi sits seven in the ADAC MX Masters standings, but this injury probably will cost him some rounds sidelined.
