MXoN 2023 Ernee, France Rider:

Portugal will once again field a national team in the Motocross of Nations on October 4, 5 & 6 at Matterley Basin, England. The Portuguese team will be made up of Paulo Alberto, Luís Outeiro and Sandro Lobo for the 30th participation of Portugal since the debut of Cesar Peixe, Luis Sierra and Joao Castro back in 1994 at Roggenburg, Switzerland.

The current National Motocross and Supercross Champion, Luis Outeiro, has already made four appearances in the race, despite his young age (21), and is going through a great period of form in a season in which he has won the MX1, SX Elite and SX1 national titles. Paulo Alberto, who this year saw part of his season affected by injury, has already made seven MXoN appearances, and his experience and recognized speed will be an asset to the Portuguese team. Alberto will ride in the OPEN class.

Finally, making his debut at the Motocross of Nations will be the reigning MX2 National Champion, Sandro Lobo. He will turn 18 in September before his MXoN debut.

Portugal 2024 MXoN Lineup:

  • MXGP: Luis Outeiro #58 (Yamaha)
  • MX2: Sandro Lobo #59 (Yamaha)
