MXoN: 2024 Team Italy officially presented

MXoN 2023 Ernee, France Rider: Bonacorsi_Italy

Third place last year in Ernée, Italy will be looking to fight for another podium with Mattia Guadagnini, Andrea Adamo and Andrea Bonacorsi on October 4, 5 and 6 at Matterley Basin.

Mattia Guadagnini, who was part of the winning team in 2021, will once again wear the colors of his country this time in the MXGP category. The Neestan Husqvarna rider is already 100% recovered from a shoulder injury that deprived him from competing in several rounds of the Motocross World Championship.

Andrea Adamo will take the place in MX2 in what will be his third participation for the reigning world champion in the category. Finally, Andrea Bonacorsi will be back in the OPEN category after surprising last year in his debut, being a key piece for Italy to conquer the final third place.

Alberto Forato has been selected as a reserve: after an injury that forced him to stop for almost four months, he returned to the track on 22 and 23 June in Ponte a Egola for the Italian championship and his physical shape is constantly improving.

2024 MXoN Team Italy:

  • MXGP: Mattia Guadagnini #7 (Husqvarna)
  • MX2: Andrea Adamo #8 (KTM)
  • OPEN: Andrea Bonacorsi #9 (Yamaha)

Thomas Traversini, FMI Technical Commissioner:

“There is less and less time until the 2024 Motocross of Nations and our guys can’t wait to get on the track to demonstrate their worth. Also for this year we have decided to call up a team with a low average age because we believe in the strength of the Italian youth system and because we can count on guys with enviable human and qualitative characteristics, who have demonstrated in recent years that they can achieve excellent results. As with every edition, there will be ambitious teams that will aim high, but we will not be outdone”.
