The opening day of the Grand Prix of Uddevalla, Sweden, saw French victories in the qualifying races with Romain Febvre (Kawasaki KRT) and Thibault Benistant (Monster Energy Yamaha). Febvre also extended his championship lead from 9 to 14 points after a subdued performance from Lucas Coenen.
Both races followed a similar script: decisive starts, few overtaking opportunities, and outcomes largely defined in the opening laps. A clear warning for tomorrow — a bad start could prove very costly.
