MXGP Riola Sardo: Jeffrey Herlings win Saturday Qualy Race

Herlings Riola 26

Honda HRC Petronas rider Jeffrey Herlings claimed victory in the qualifying race after holding off sustained pressure from reigning champion Romain Febvre (Kawasaki KRT), who stayed close throughout but couldn’t find a way past.

Tim Gajser (Monster Energy Yamaha) secured third after a late pass on Tom Vialle, while championship leader Lucas Coenen (Red Bull KTM De Carli) delivered an impressive comeback ride from a first-corner crash to finish fifth, just ahead of Andrea Adamo and Kay de Wolf (Neestan Husqvarna) who was involved in the crash.

Coenen continues to lead the standings, now holding a six-point advantage over Vialle, with Herlings in third with a 8-point deficit.

MX2: 4 out of 4 for Sacha

Sacha Coenen remained unbeaten in qualifying races this season, taking a dominant lights-to-flag win after grabbing the holeshot and controlling the pace from the front.

Behind him, Simon Längenfelder fought through the pack to secure second, followed by rookie Jānis Reišulis in third. Liam Everts and Camden McLellan completed the top five after late incidents affected other contenders.

Guillem Farrés salvaged a top 10 finish after a late crash, while Coenen’s win moves him up to second in the championship standings behind Längenfelder.
