While riders have been returning from the MXGP season opener in Argentina, the FIM Motocross World Championship 2024 launches in Europe for the first time, to intuit Xanadu – Arroyomolinos for the MXGP of Spain. The first start in Europe means that there will be a group of riders joining the regular lineup. Unfortunately, Mattia Guadagnini, Alberto Forato and Samuel Nilsson will miss this round, though, with Liam Everts returning.

Alberto Forato #303 | Ribs & Collpase Lung | OUT: The Standings Construct Honda went under surgery before the opening round in Argentina to fix a thumb injury. He tried to ride in Argentina but he had to pull out. He was set to make his return this weekend but a big crash suffered on Wednesday resulted in 8 broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
“Unfortunately Alberto Forato had a big crash today while preparing for the Spanish GP and suffered 8 broken ribs and a collapsed lung. He’s in Herentals’ hospital where he gets the best care. When it rains, it pours…”, the Standing Construct Honda team shared.“
Mattia Guadagnini #101 | Shoulder blade | OUT: The Neestan Husqvarna rider broke his shoulder blade at the International of Sommieres in France, which cost him the trip to Argentina. It was expected to see him back on the bike for Spain, but the team now reveals he won´t be racing as is expected to be back for round three in Riola Sardo.
“We tried our best, but it is not good enough at the moment. It is hard for me to accept but we will keep working for the next one” said Guadagnini.
Samuel Nilsson #356 | Banged up | OUT: The Spanish rider was expected to make his debut in the MX2 class after he put all the pieces together to built his own program to compete in the GP rounds held in Europe. Unfortunately, a crash during the third round of the Spanish Motocross will pospost his home GP. The good news is he will come back for round 4 in Trentino.
Julius Mikula #451 | Shoulder blade | OUT: Unfortunately, Mikula has been forced to delay his MX2 debut after a broken shoulder blade at the International of Lierop on March 3rd.
Liam Everts #72 | Thumb | IN: The good news is that KTM Red Bull´s Liam Everts will be behind the gate this weekend after missing the opening round in Argentina due to a dislocated thumb. Now last year’s MX2 runner-up has a long road to the top if he wants to be in the title chase at the end of the year.
