The reigning champ Jorge Prado took a key win for his title aspirations as he dominates the MXGP Qualifying Race, extending the standings lead from 7 to 9 points over Tim Gajser who finished 3rd behind Jeffrey Herlings after he charged from seventh. In the MX2 class, Lucas Coenen put a wire-to-wire performance but he is still 31 points behind Kay de Wolf. If Lucas wins Race 1, de Wolf needs to finish fifht or better to wrapp the title.
