The 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship reaches its final round this weekend in Darwin, Australia, with two World Championships still to be decided. While Jeffrey Herlings has already secured his sixth MXGP crown, the MX2 and WMX titles remain wide open heading into Sunday’s decisive races.
MXGP: Vialle ends Herlings’ incredible streak
Tom Vialle (Honda HRC Petronas) claimed the final MXGP Qualifying Race of the season, ending Jeffrey Herlings’ remarkable run of 37 consecutive sessions at the top. The streak included free practice, qualifying, Qualifying Races, warm-ups and Grand Prix races.
Vialle grabbed the holeshot and led every lap despite constant pressure from Romain Febvre (Kawasaki KRT). The Frenchman held on for his second Qualifying Race victory of the season, with his first coming at the opening round in Argentina.
Herlings endured a difficult start and nearly crashed in the opening corner. The six-time World Champion dropped to ninth before fighting his way back to third. Andrea Adamo and Pauls Jonass completed the top five.

MX2: McLellan keeps the title fight alive
Camden McLellan (Triumph Factory Racing) delayed Guillem Farrés’ title celebrations by winning the MX2 Qualifying Race.
McLellan had to work his way past Janis Reisulis (Monster Energy Yamaha), eventually making the decisive move on the seventh lap to claim his third Qualifying Race win of the season.
Farrés had a more difficult start and initially ran seventh, but recovered to finish fourth behind Liam Everts (Nestaan Husqvarna).
The result leaves McLellan 45 points behind Farrés heading into Sunday’s final two motos. Farrés remains in a commanding position, with McLellan needing a perfect 1-1 score while the Spaniard fails to score in both races to overturn the championship.

WMX: Guillén takes control of the title fight
The WMX championship is also set for a dramatic conclusion. Daniela Guillén won Saturday’s opening moto and extended her championship lead over Kiara Fontanesi.
The Spanish rider battled with Fontanesi during the early stages before making the decisive pass and moving into the lead. Once ahead, Guillén built a comfortable advantage and secured a crucial victory.
Fontanesi, meanwhile, slipped to fourth after being passed by Lotte van Drunen and Courtney Duncan on the final lap.
As a result, Guillén’s championship advantage grows from six to 13 points heading into Sunday’s final moto. The Spanish rider needs to finish seventh or better to secure her first WMX World Championship.
