The action in Brazil doesn’t stop. After a weekend break that made way for the opening round of the Arena Cross series, the MX1 GP Brasil Championship returns with the fourth round of the season in Cuiabá. Besides the races, the main storyline this weekend is that the event will be held under artificial lights, altering the traditional schedule and moving the main classes to Saturday night, May 23.
In the MX1 class, Enzo Lopes arrives as the solid championship leader, carrying the red plate after winning all three rounds contested so far. The rider from Rio Grande do Sul is also coming in with momentum after claiming victory at the opening round of Arena Cross last weekend, further confirming his excellent form since returning to Brazilian competition.
Lopes holds a 29-point advantage over Glenn Coldenhoff (Yamaha C6 Bank IMS Racing), who has already collected two overall podiums and a moto win in what is proving to be a strong debut season in Brazil. Cuiabá could be a key opportunity for the Dutchman to start reducing the gap. Just behind him in the standings sits Jeremy Van Horebeek (Honda Brasil), another major contender in the series.

In MX2, Salvador Pérez remains one of the standout names of the season. The Yamaha Monster Energy Geração rider won the opening four motos of the championship before arriving in Castro, where he struggled in demanding muddy conditions and finished outside the top three. The cancellation of the second moto limited his chances to recover, but he still managed to secure a valuable fifth overall that keeps him at the top of the standings with a 12-point lead over Henrique Henicka (595 KTM Pro Tork) and Pietro Piroli (Honda Brasil), who are tied in the battle for second place.
