Metal starting grids have become a common feature at start lines in motocross racing. The use of metal starting grates was initially introduced in 2013 at the Monster Energy Cup, which had an elevated start. Since then, they have been regularly employed in Supercross and MXGP events.
Well, now they are coming to Pro Motocross. Starting this season, metal grids are here, MX Sports announced today.
MX Sports released a new rulebook which includes the following:
Changes include the incorporation of metal grids for the Start Line, replacement of the WOG flag with the Red Cross flag, and removal of series-provided secondary medical insurance coverage. All riders are required to carry primary medical insurance covering all event-related activity.
The AMA Pro Motocross Championship will start on May 27 at Fox Raceway, Pala, California.
