Max Nagl secured the championship in Jauer. Cornelius Töndel celebrated his first overall victory of the season. Henry Jacobi secured a place on the overall podium after winning a race on Saturday.
Max Nagl (D/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) secured his fifth title as ADAC MX Masters Champion with second place in the second race in Jauer. In summer temperatures, the enthusiastic fans witnessed the first overall victory of Cornelius Töndel (NO/Schmicker Racing), who won both races on Sunday, ahead of Nagl and Henry Jacobi (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team), who won the first race on Saturday.
After a very strong first half of the season, it was only a matter of time before Max Nagl would defend his title, which he answered with second place in the second race and celebrated as the old and new ADAC MX Masters Champion 2024. By winning the championship for the fifth time, he drew level with the previous record champion Dennis Ullrich (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and made German motocross history as the first rider to win three titles in a row.
“Winning a title is always something very special. I laid the foundation for it in the winter with my physical training. I tried to get the best out of myself all season long. The bike ran perfectly this season, the team has improved the Honda even further since last year. It’s great that we’ve won the championship so early, that takes the pressure off me. The track in Jauer didn’t suit me so well at the beginning and I was surprised that I was able to improve again on Sunday. The great atmosphere with the enthusiastic fans in Jauer played its part. The season isn’t over yet, though, we’ll try to win the team and manufacturer rankings at the finale in Holzgerlingen, and I can’t let up on that,” said a satisfied Max Nagl at the awards ceremony.
After Cornelius Töndel missed the last event due to injury, he made an impressive comeback in Jauer with overall victory. On Saturday he finished the first race in third place behind Jacobi and Nagl. On Sunday he won both races without any problems. Jacobi managed to make it onto the overall podium for the first time this season behind Töndel and Nagl with a 1-9-5 in motos.
