Bud Racing Kawasaki’s Mathis Valin claimed the FIM European EMX250 Championship title in style with a perfect 1-1 at the season finale in Cozar.

The Frenchman rose to the occasion in spectacular fashion. Dominating the first race on Saturday, he pulled off an impressive victory to clinch the EMX250 Championship before the weekend even wrapped up, showcasing his dominance and mastery of the track. He followed up by winning race two to perfect his weekend.

“This season was incredible; at the start of the year I could never have dreamed that I could win the European title in my rookie season. I’m delighted to secure the title with a race win today, but there is still one moto tomorrow and I want to round out the European Championship with another overall win. Today I got the holeshot and led all the way to win the race; during the last few laps I just tried to stay focused as I didn’t want to crash and the gap was not so important as Benjamin was second! I’m happy for him; it’s great that he got a good result too. I want to thank Stephane Dasse and the entire Bud team, our coach Thierry (Van Den Bosch) and all my family for their support.”

Valin finishes his EMX250 chapter with a total of 4 overall wins and 10 race wins in his first and final season in this class. The Frenchman has already secured a deal with Kawasaki Factory for the 2025 MX2 World Championship season. Valin is the 11th Frenchman to be crowned champion in the class and the first Kawasaki rider since Roan van de Moosdijk in 2019 (F&H Racing).
