The Wildcat Race Team made the trip to the historic venue of Daytona, a place full of good memories for our rider Lorenzo Locurcio who got his best career result finishing 6th in his rookie season in 2017. Locurcio was poisoned with those memories as he went straight to the Night Show on a solid 17th place in the combined times, on a track full of roots and mud due to rain conditions.
Locurcio had a crash on his heat race, and in the LCQ had a bad start. However, he made it to the Main Event by getting the final spot on the final lap as he charged from behind. In the Main Event, Lorenzo was running on a solid 12th after making some good passes. But with 2 laps to go he had a big crash on the tunnel jump that ended his night. Despite being ok, it was a huge setback for him as he is starting to show the true potential of our GasGas machinery powered by Twisted Development and HGS Exhaust.
Meanwhile, Nick Laurie´s day was truly affected due to jet lag after racing in India. But the team is happy with the progress on the test track and now, with the Indian Supercross League concluded, he is hoping to show his potential next weekend in Birmingham.
Overall, the Team is as happy and motivated as ever with the progress, especially with the fan’s attendance in our pits. You can follow all the news from the Wildcat Race Team on our Instagram account @wildcat.raceteam
