The first round of seven French Elite Championship will be hosted at the Moto Club Lacapelle – Marivel, a former MXGP track back in 2021 when Jeffrey Herlings won over local hero Romain Febvre. Both riders fought each other again last Sunday in Hawkstone Park, however, this time Febvre will be riding in Lierop against a bunch of MXGP riders while Herlings will be facing some of the best french riders.
This will be the third preseason race for Herligs. So far the Dutchman is been having a “lighter” preseason prep. Starting with a small race two weeks ago in Arhmen when he went 1-1 and then struggled with bad starts and a crash in Hawkstone Park to end 4th overall. Now is going to France which is expected a smaller lineup than Lierop.
Challenging Herlings class as well as chasing the MX1 title through the entire series we had Milko Potisek, Gregory Aranda, Xavier Boog, Valentin Guillod, Stephen Rubini, Cedric Soubeyras, Anthony Bourdon Jason Clermont, Mathys Boisrame, and David Herbreteau.
In the MX2 division, Lucas (Nestaan Husqvarna) and Sacha (KTM Red Bull) Coenen will be racing too before heading to Argentina to face their first season in the World Motocross Championship.
