Boise, Idaho, served as the battleground for the first two rounds of the 2023/24 AMA Arenacross series with races taking place between Friday and Saturday evenings. Both nights saw two different winners in the AX Pro class in the form of reigning champ Kyle Peters and title contender Ryan Breece, respectively, but Peters leaves Idaho with the Red Plate by 1 point over Breece.
On Friday’s opening round, Kyle Peters topped the podium. The Phoenix Honda rider was consistent over the night by claiming the overall via 2-1 and including a heat win. Yamaha´s duo filled the podium with Ryan Breece second and Venezuelan Anthony Rodriguez in third.
Breece set the peace on qualifying and then won the heat, followed by another win but this time in the first Main Event. However, a 4th place in the second Main Event dropped to the second box. Meanwhile, Rodriguez went 4-2 to get 3rd place overall on his first-ever Arenacross
Breece took redemption on Saturday´s round 2 by claiming the overall via 2-1 over Peters 1-3. This time the third spot went to Robbie Wageman 4-2. On the other hand, Rodriguez had a crash in Main 1 finishing 11th but did not take part on Main 2 as he was banged up.
As for the standings, Peters holds the red plate 1 point over Breece (61-60). The next round will take place on December 8 in Madison, Wisconsin before the remaining rounds continue in 2024.
