Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing will have a new rider under its tent at round 3 of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship this Saturday at Thunder Valley.

Fresh off his 1-1 sweep at the SMX Next – Motocross Combine at Hangtown last weekend, Australian Kayden Minear will make his pro debut with the team in Colorado.

“I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to make my pro debut this weekend at Thunder Valley,” said Minear in the team announcement. “I’ve been putting in a lot of work with the team to get up to speed, and I’m confident that I can go compete with the pros and get the results we’re looking for.”

In addition to multiple Australian amateur titles, Minear was crowned the Australian ProMX MX3 Champion in 2022 and finished runner-up in the 2024 MX2 Championship.

In the announcement, the team said Minear will contest a few rounds in the pro ranks before returning to the amateur ranks to race Loretta’s later this year. The team is currently without the likes of Pierce Brown, Cole Davies, Daxton Bennick, Max Anstie and Jeremy Martin, who are all sidelined for the immediate future.
