With one week to go, TLD GasGas rider Justin Barcia has made the difficult decision to not compete in the 40th edition of the Paris Supercross.
Barcia, three times King of Paris, was one of the great stars for this special edition of the French event, but in the last hours, he has communicated through his social media that he will not be behind the starting gate.
According to Barcia’s statement, he doesn´t feel at 100% to start racing. At least that was his feedback after three days of testing and training in Supercross, which have led him to make the decision not to compete until at least, Anaheim 1. Remember Barcia comes from a broken collarbone suffered in the final round of the SuperMotocross in Los Angeles Coliseum.
UPDATE: JUSTIN BRAYTON FILL-IN
With Barcia’s recent withdrawal, event promoters have confirmed that the vacancy will be filled by Justin Brayton, 3rd in the 2022 edition. Brayton competes in World and Australian Supercross with the FirePower Honda team.
Brayton has been at this event on numerous occasions. In 2009 he was crowned King of Bercy in a demanding format of three nights of racing.
