The Dutch National Motocross Championship wrapped up its season this Sunday, September 27, with the tenth and final round held in Heerde. The event served as an important warm-up for several riders who will compete in the Motocross of Nations in Ernée, scheduled for October 3 and 4.
Jeffrey Herlings was the star of the day, winning both races convincingly to close out the year with another overall victory. Behind the Honda HRC Petronas rider was Liam Everts, who finished second thanks to a 2-2 result aboard the Husqvarna FC 450 of the Neestan Husqvarna team. The Belgian will ride a 450cc bike at Ernée, where he will represent Belgium in the OPEN class.
Rounding out the podium was Glenn Coldenhoff, who competed on a Yamaha YZ250F as part of his preparation for the MXoN. The Dutch rider will be defending the Netherlands’ colors in the MX2 class.
In the battle for the 500cc championship, Boris Blanken clinched the title thanks to a consistent 4-4 finish in the races, enough to edge out his main rival, Dave Kooiker, who finished fifth with a 5-5 result. Blanken closed out the season with a total of five victories, confirming his consistency throughout the series.
