Jeffrey Herlings wins Dutch National in Oss

Herlings Argentina 26 3

Jeffrey Herlings claimed victory at the opening round of the Dutch National Motocross Championship in Circuit de Witte Ruysheuvel, continuing a strong run of form on his Honda HRC machine. The five-time world champion has now taken three consecutive wins, following his triumph at the International of Lierop and a dominant 1-1 performance at the MXGP of Argentina.

The event ultimately featured only one race, as the second motos were cancelled after a heavy crash involving Ivano Van Erp during the second MX2 race. The incident caused a lengthy delay, and with worsening weather conditions and limited visibility, organizers decided not to continue the program.

Herlings led from start to finish but faced constant pressure from Romain Febvre, who crossed the line just 1.4 seconds behind aboard his Kawasaki KRT machine. Glenn Coldenhoff secured third place on his privateer Yamaha after capitalizing on an early mistake from Andrea Adamo.

In MX2, the first race victory went to Mathis Valin of Kawasaki KRT, followed by Van Erp and Lucas Bruhn. However, with the remaining motos cancelled, the event concluded earlier than planned.

Now riders focus on the next weekend for Round 2 of the MXGP World Championship in Almonte, Spain.
