Jeffrey Herlings rules in Schoolhouse – ACU British Championship

MXPG Lombok - Indonesia 2024, Lombok Rider:

The World Championship has taken a weekend off before heading to Turkey and China in the next two weeks, but Jeffrey Herlings, as we are used to, is back to fill the gaps in the World Championship calendar with another successful appearance in the ACU British Championship. The Dutchman won both motos in the penultimate round held at Schoolhouse. In MX2 Tommy Searle won with an excellent 1-1.

In the first MX1 race, Conrad Mewse took the lead on the first lap after overtaking his teammate Taylor Hammal. Meanwhile Jeffrey Herlings could not get a good start, and after making his way from the back, he took the lead by overtaking Mewse on lap 11. Hammal held on to third place over Gilbert.

In Race 2, Herlings got a better start at the front and dominated until the checkered flag against Mewse and Josh Gilbert who, in turn, would complete the podium with a 4-3 in rounds.

The final round will take place on September 21 & 22 at Preston Docks. Herlings arrives at the event with a 19-point lead over Mewse.

MX2: TOMMY SEARLE SWEEPS

In the first heat Tommy Serle capitalized on the crashes of Cas Valk and Joel Rizzi to take first place and take the win. Dylan Walsh and Elliot Banks also took advantage of this situation to finish second and third. Valk and Rizzi recovered in fourth and fifth place respectively.

Searle would win the second heat more comfortably over Rizzi and Walsh. These last two positions would be reversed in the final podium with Walsh 2nd (2-3) and Rizzi 3rd (5-2).

The Top 5 was rounded out by Cas Valk (4-5) and Jack Chambers (10-4). Both are in the thick of title contention, with Valk now leading Chambers by 13 points.
