Gyan Doensen’s weekend at the MXGP of Sweden, Round 11 of the EMX250 series, ended in heartbreak. A first-lap incident in Race 2 saw the young Dutchman go down hard after being cross-jumped by another rider, forcing him to retire from the race and prematurely closing the chapter on his 2025 season.
“Sweden done and unfortunately my season as well. Solid first moto with P6 but wasn’t able to complete the weekend. Someone cross-jumped me really bad and I crashed. Got hit by some riders which resulted in a broken ankle and bruised body. Also just before the end of the season and my home race in Arnhem makes it even worse, but I’ll come back even stronger for ’26! Thanks team, I’ll be back!”
Before Sweden, Doensen had built a consistent campaign with podiums in France and Latvia, along with several top-ten finishes that underlined his potential for the future.
