Evan Ferry started the evening well, staying in the top five for most of the heat race.
However, in the penultimate lap upon a jump landing he tore his Achilles tendon, ending his night. The team will monitor Evan’s recovery to determine return date.
Evan Ferry on social media: “At a loss for words right now. Did absolutely everything I could the months leading up to Anaheim. Had an awesome heat race going in qualifying position battling with some gnarly dudes, and unfortunately my Achilles gave out. No idea how long I’ll be out but I will be back! Keep yall updated! Just want to give a huge thanks to the whole entire Phoenix Honda team for believing in me! Thanks team”
Last year Ferry made his 250SX debut at the opening round of the East Coast in Detroit. He qualified for the Main Event, but ended involved in the wild first turn crash with a dozen of riders. Ferry was one of the few riders who took the wrost part, as he was slammed into a wall of Tuff Blox off the edge of the track. Since then, Ferry did not return for any more races of the 2024 season and by April he had departed from Triumph Factory Team.
