The eighth round of the EMX125 European Championship took place this weekend at Foxhills, where Ricardo Bauer stole the show by winning both races and taking the championship lead, capitalizing on the absence of his teammate, Moritz Ernecker, who was sidelined due to injury.
The Austrian rider dominated the first race on Saturday with authority. However, in Sunday’s race, he had to dig deep after finding himself in an intense three-way battle with Levi Townley and Ryan Oppliger. The three rode virtually side-by-side during the final laps, delivering one of the most spectacular moments of the weekend. In the end, Bauer managed to hold on to the lead to complete the one-two finish, while Townley crossed the finish line in second place and Oppliger finished third.
In the Grand Prix overall standings, second place went to Denmark’s Betram Thorius thanks to a solid combination of results (2-5), while Townley rounded out the podium after fighting back from eighth place in the first race to finish second in the decisive race.
