Cornelius Toendel Part Wats with SM Action KTM – New plans announced

MXPG Argentina 2023, Patagonia, Villa Langostura, Rider: Toendel

The Norway rider confirmed his departure from the Italian team and confirmed new plans for the incoming weeks.

Toendel had the intention to attempt the entire MX2 World Championship season this year with SM Action KTM Team. However, he has been sidelined since early this year due to an illness that affected him physically. Toendel returned to Norway to focus on his recovery, and now it seems he´s OK to be back, but not under the SM Action team colors, as he confirmed his departure from the team.

Toendel will race a couple of EMX250 rounds with Polaris Nordmøre support, starting next weekend at Loket. He wrote on social media:

Things are changing fast in the mx world! Cornelius’ team in Italy has had various organizational problems due to injury/illness, and therefore cannot complete the season as planned. Cornelius has been enjoying his time at home and in the cross environment, and is now in better shape. Due to a sudden lack of team agreement, other solutions have to be established on short notice, and “the one and only” Polaris Nordmøre Motocross provides bikes and backing so that Cornelius can run a couple of European Championship races to begin with. Then we’ll see what falls into place and what races can be run. In a somewhat troubled period, the Czech Republic and Belgium are therefore on the schedule for the coming weeks”
