Yesterday, we learned that Canadian Cole Thompson was ruled out for the opening round of the World Supercross at Birmingham this weekend due to a back injury. The ClubMX Yamaha -as well as the other nine teams- has the obligation to present a full four-rooster in each GP. With that in mind, the team quickly put a fill-in rider to supply Thompson.
Meanwhile, Josh Cartwright will be heading to Birmingham to supply Thompson in the WSX class. Cartwright has been riding at a professional level since 2015 with some consistent results in both 250SX and 450SX in the AMA Supercross.
As for Thompson, he had a lapse of 95 days to recover before round 2 take place at Singapur on September 30th. Remember, the WSX Calendar was rescheduled due to the Grand Prix of France late cancellation.
