Chance Hymas Injury Update after High Point

Hymas High Point 25

Round 4 of AMA Pro Motocross took place at High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania, where with Chance Hymas finishing fourth overall but possibly injuring his knee.

Hymas got a strong jump out of the gate in moto 2 and was third across the holeshot line, then second by the end of the first lap. He remained there until the final lap, when an unfortunate incident saw him cross the finish line in third, favoring his right leg. Hymas’ 5-3 moto scores were good for fourth overall.

Chance Hymas #10: “It was a rough day for me at High Point—I went 5-3 in the motos, but on the last lap of the second moto, I dabbed my good leg, and now I’m dealing with a lot of pain in my right knee. I’ll be seeing the doctor Monday to get it checked out and figure out a game plan from there.”

Lars Lindstrom, team manager: “Unfortunately, we’ve had our fair share of these bittersweet days at the races. On one hand, it was a great day for us, getting our premier-class riders to go 1 and 2, while our 250 riders showed good speed and once again proved they’re podium contenders every weekend. On the other hand, it really kills me to see any of our riders have an injury like Chance did in the second moto, and we’re all really hoping for the best outcome with his right knee. We’ll be focusing on improving Jo’s starts, and if we do that, I think he’ll be a real threat for the top step on the podium. Jet was incredible once again in the tricky conditions, and Hunter was awesome as well—so close to his first overall motocross win! I think that will come very soon.”
