TIME FOR REVENGE:
Canada has never really stood out in Motocross of Nations. In fact in the last twenty years they finished in the Top 10 four times. The best result was an 8th at Lierop (2004) with Jean Sebastian Roy in MX1, Dusty Klatt in MX2 and Morgan Blair in Open. Most recently they finished 10th at Red Bud (2018) with Jess Pettis in MX1, Colton Facciotti in MX2 and Tyler Medaglia in OPEN. Those results mean a lot to the fans and Canadian affiliates.
Last year they arrived in Ernée (France) with the hope of achieving the best result in history with a team formed by Dylan Wright in MXGP, Ryder McNabb in MX2 and Jess Pettis in OPEN. The three of them came from a great campaign at domestic level, however it seems that luck did not travel with them, as at the end of the first day they found themselves in the worst-case scenario. Canada failed to qualify for the motos.
Balloon gate-picks placed them 37th for the Qualifying Races. Wright was the first to get into action for the MXGP qualifying race and was involved in a multiple crash in the first corner, resulting in a DNF due to the damage his bike received. Next was Ryder McNabb who after two crashes finished 24th. Lastly, Pettis moved from 26th to 12th place, but his efforts were insufficient to put Team Canada in the final.
B Final was a similar story for all three. Multiple crashes led to a 6th place, when only the first place qualified.
