Kay de Wolf Ruled Out of the Remainder of the MXGP of Italy Following Crash in Montevarchi

Kay de Wolf will take no further part in the MXGP of Italy after suffering a crash during Saturday’s timed practice session at Montevarchi.

Husqvarna Factory Racing confirmed the news in an official statement, describing the incident as an unfortunate and unavoidable accident. As a result, the Dutch rider has been withdrawn from the remainder of the Grand Prix weekend.

«Following an unfortunate and unavoidable incident during yesterday’s timed practice session, Kay has been ruled out of the remainder of the MXGP of Italy,” the team stated.

No further details regarding the nature or severity of the injury have been released at this stage, with Husqvarna emphasizing that De Wolf’s recovery is now the team’s primary focus.

The setback comes amid an impressive rookie campaign in the MXGP class for the Dutchman. Heading into the Italian Grand Prix, De Wolf sat fifth in the FIM Motocross World Championship standings and had established himself as one of the standout newcomers in the premier category.
