BREAKING: Courtney Duncan OUT for the MXGP of Germany

MXPG Galicia 2024, Lugo Rider:

The reigning WMX World Champ will not take part in the fourth round of the Women’s Motocross World Championship.

Courtney Duncan suffered a knee injury following a crash while training in the week before the fourth round of the calendar, which will be contested this weekend in Teutschenthal, Germany.

“Due to a practice crash last week I’ll be sidelined for the German GP this weekend. I underwent Surgery with Dr Steven Claes in Belgium Monday and started physio therapy today. We are not here to dwell on it, we will rebound from this and be back at it very soon”, wrote Duncan on social media.

After a bad start, the F&H Racing rider is currently fourth in the championship with a deficit of 40 points with respect to the first classified. Although now with this drop her chances of revalidating the title are virtually null and void.

On the other hand, Lotte Van Drunen leads the standings with 9 points ahead of Spain’s Daniela Guillen. Difference that could change in favor of one or the other today at the end of the first round, to be held at 15:00hrs.
