Another setback for the U.S. team ahead of the 2026 Motocross of Nations. Chance Hymas has confirmed that he will be unable to compete in the 79th edition of the event, which will take place on October 3 and 4 in Ernée, France, due to a wrist injury sustained during practice.
The Honda HRC Progressive rider, who had been selected to represent his country in the MXGP class, explained that a mistake during a practice session caused severe compression in his left wrist as he cleared a triple jump.

«After undergoing further medical tests, including a CT scan, doctors detected small fractures in two bones in his wrist, as well as a possible ligament injury between the two bones.
A slight mistake yesterday and I over jumped the triple, jammed my left wrist pretty bad. But after further evaluation a CT scan showed small fractures in two wrist bones and it raised concern about an injured ligament between the bones.
We’ve had to make the difficult decision to withdraw from MXON. There are a lot of people involved in this decision, and so many factors that have to be considered beyond just me.
I will always step up for my country. This decision is about giving Team USA the best possible chance at a great result. I know I wouldn’t be at 100%, and I don’t believe that would be fair to Coop, Levi, or the entire USA team.
