Belgium’s team for the 79th edition of the Motocross of Nations, set to take place on October 3-4 in Ernée, France, was officially announced during the opening day of the MXGP of Lommel.

The Belgian squad will feature the same trio that secured an impressive fourth-place finish at Ironman last year. Lucas Coenen will represent the nation in the MXGP class, Sacha Coenen will line up in MX2, and Liam Everts will compete in the Open category.

The team heads into the event with ambitions of challenging for a podium finish and potentially fighting for the prestigious Chamberlain Trophy. Belgium remains one of the most successful nations in Motocross of Nations history, having claimed six overall victories. Their most recent triumph came in 2013 at Teutschenthal, Germany.

Jago Geerts and Brent Van Doninck have been selected as reserve riders. Both bring extensive experience at the highest level of the sport and will be ready to step in should any of the nominated riders be unable to compete. The fitness of Lucas Coenen will be a key storyline to follow in the coming weeks after the KTM rider was forced to withdraw from the MXGP of Lommel due to injury.
