It was a tough night for the AEO Powersports KTM team, with both Talon Hawkins and Avery Long suffering hard crashes at the second round of the 250SX West Coast in San Diego. Long’s crash appeared to be the most frightening, as his heavy fall in the LCQ led to a red flag and a significant delay while he received medical attention from the Alpinestars Medics.
Long has fortunately come out relatively unscathed. According to the team, he has been released from the hospital and is primarily just bruised and sore. However, he did take a significant blow to the head, so the pro rookie may sit out next weekend’s race at Anaheim 2.

Hawkins, unfortunately, sustained the most severe injury. The California native suffered a broken femur and is scheduled for surgery today (Sunday).
