Alghero: Live Stream, Schedule & Preview

Tim Gajser Yamaha

The 2026 MXGP pre-season officially kicks off this weekend with the International of Italy in Alghero (Sardinia), held at the Lazzaretto circuit on February 1st. Traditionally a key benchmark ahead of the World Championship, the event will offer the first real indication of form for riders and manufacturers alike.

All eyes will be on Tim Gajser, who is set to make his first race appearance with Monster Energy Yamaha, one of the most anticipated debuts of the off-season. The Italian round will provide an early look at how quickly the former world champion has adapted to his new machinery.

Another notable move comes from Andrea Adamo, who will make his MX1 debut with Red Bull KTM, stepping up after his MX2 success and beginning a new chapter in the premier class.

Ducati will also be firmly in the spotlight. The Borgo Panigale brand continues to expand its motocross project, with Jeremy Seewer leading the MXGP effort, joined by new teammates Calvin Vlaanderen and Andrea Bonacorsi, while Ferruccio Zanchi and Simone Mancini represent Ducati in MX2 under the Beddini structure.

Finally, the Coenen brothers remain key protagonists, with Lucas and Sacha Coenen once again expected to be among the benchmark riders in their respective categories as the pre-season gets underway.
