Jett Lawrence and Cole Thompson came out on top at the tenth edition of the AUSX OPEN, held inside Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium. The iconic event also served as the penultimate round of the Australian Supercross Championship, where Dean Wilson strengthened his SX1 points lead, while Ryder Kingsford became the new SX2 red-plate holder.
SX1: Jett Dominates on Home Soil
Jett Lawrence delivered a flawless performance, going 1–1 after controlling both SX1 finals from the very beginning. The HRC star grabbed the lead early in each race and never looked back. Dean Wilson secured second overall with steady 2–3 scores, extending his championship advantage to 42 points with just one round remaining.
Last year’s winner, Hunter Lawrence, rebounded from a tough start in Race 1 to go 5–2 and finish third overall.

Veteran Matt Moss deserves special praise—he grabbed both holeshots and fought fiercely at the front, especially in Race 2, before settling for fourth overall. Cedric Soubeyras had a quiet but consistent night with a 6–6 result.
SX2: Thompson Takes the Win, Turner OUT and New Points Leader
SX2 saw a dramatic twist when Lux Turner—the winner of the previous three rounds—was sidelined after a heavy crash during free practice. With the championship wide open, his teammate Ryder Kingsford capitalized, finishing second overall with 3–2 scores and taking over the red plate by 12 points ahead of Honda’s Alex Larwood (2–5).

The overall win went to Canada’s Cole Thompson (Empire Kawasaki), who posted a strong 1–3 to top the night. Reigning champion Shane McElrath followed closely with a 4–1 for second.
